כפי שמתועד בסרט, יום לפני שהחלה המתקפה הנוראית בשבת, נערכה חזרה גנרלית בקיבוץ על טקס חגיגי שהיה אמור להיערך למחרת היום, ולציין 70 שנים להקמתו. "זה יום חג שהתכוננו אליו שנה שלמה. כולם מאוד התרגשו. זה קיבוץ שחי כל החיים תחת האי-נורמליות של צבע אדום ומתקפות, ומצד שני כן הצליח לנהל איזה נורמליות בתוך הסיטואציה. זה לא שהם היו נאיביים, הם פשוט בחרו להאמין שיכולה להיות מציאות טובה יותר כמו שהרבה אנשים רוצים להאמין.
